Integration · Dialpad to GoHighLevel

Dialpad and GoHighLevel integration

Dialpad handles the phone and GoHighLevel holds the client. We connect them so a call lands on the right contact in the right sub-account, whoever in the department answered it, and the follow-up workflow starts on its own. It is a one-time setup by our team, not a monthly middleware subscription.

Shared phones, separate clients

Dialpad is built around groups. A department shares incoming calls across a set of people, and a Contact Center adds routing, monitoring and analytics on top — though each one needs a Sell or Support licence and carries a single routing type. Admin rights come in six flavours, from Company Admin down to an Office Admin who controls one office, which is a genuinely useful shape when different people look after different parts of the business.

GoHighLevel is built around separation. Every client gets a sub-account with its own contacts, pipeline, calendar and workflows, and the one thing that must never happen is a call from one client appearing in another’s account. Those two models do not line up by themselves. The connection is where they meet: the number decides the client, the department decides who answered, and the two facts are kept apart on purpose.

  • Agencies answering for several clientsEach number writes into one sub-account and no other.
  • Teams with shared inbound departmentsA call answered by anyone still lands on the right contact.
  • Appointment-setting teamsA qualified call starts the client’s own booking workflow immediately.

A one-time setup, not a monthly middleware bill

We are not a middleware. We plan the connection, set it up, test it on your calls and hand it over.

Where Dialpad and GoHighLevel setups usually go wrong

The number decides the client

A department can answer for more than one brand. We map each number to exactly one sub-account, so a caller is looked up and written back in that client’s account only.

Departments have no single owner

Calls are shared across a group, so there is no obvious owner for the note or the task. We agree whether that is whoever answered or the contact owner, before anything lands unassigned.

Texting needs registration first

If the workflow texts a US number, that sub-account needs A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration. We check it rather than shipping a flow that fails quietly.

Contact Centers are licensed separately

Dialpad Contact Centers require a Sell or Support licence and each has one routing type. Worth confirming before a design leans on routing you are not licensed for.

How we set it up

  1. 1

    Agree what connects

Which numbers and departments map to which sub-accounts, who owns a shared call, and which outcomes start a workflow. You get a written scope with a fixed one-time price.

  2. 2

    Access for the setup

Dialpad admin at the narrowest of its six permission types that covers the work — often Office Admin — and agency-level access in GoHighLevel.

  3. 3

    We connect and test

We call each number, answer from different members of a department, and check every contact, opportunity, task and workflow in each sub-account.

  4. 4

    Handover

A short document of what is connected, including the number-to-sub-account map. It runs in your own accounts, with no monthly fee from us.

Questions about Dialpad and GoHighLevel

Can one Dialpad account serve several GoHighLevel sub-accounts?

Yes. Each number is mapped to one sub-account, so calls and contacts land in the right client’s account and nowhere else.

Who is the call logged to when a department answers?

Whoever actually took it is recorded on the note. Whether the task goes to them or to the contact owner is a rule we agree with you during scoping.

Do we need a Dialpad Contact Center licence?

Only if you want contact centre routing and analytics — those need a Sell or Support licence. Departments work without one, and the integration supports both.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. You pay once for the setup. Unlike Zapier, Make and similar middleware subscriptions, there is no monthly or per-task charge from us. Your GoHighLevel and Dialpad plans are unchanged.

Rather talk it through?
