DIALERSPick theright dialer

The short version

  • Aircall: a cloud phone system with a Power Dialer for working through call lists, on the Professional plan.
  • JustCall: three dialing modes, from one-at-a-time Power Dialing to Predictive Dialing on its SalesPro plan.
  • Kixie: built for outbound sales, with a multi-line PowerDialer and tools to protect your caller ID.

Small call teams often narrow the choice to Aircall, JustCall and Kixie. All three are cloud phone systems that connect to the common CRMs, and all three can run outbound calling. The differences are in how they dial, who can do what, and how much they help you keep your numbers answerable. This comparison uses each vendor’s own help documentation.

We set up and manage all three, so this is not a sales pitch for one. Prices and plan names change, so check each vendor’s pricing page for current details.

Aircall: a phone system first

Aircall suits teams that need a solid business phone system, with inbound and outbound calls, team roles and analytics, and that also work through call lists. Its Power Dialer takes lists of up to 1,000 numbers, and numbers need to be in international E.164 format (like +14155552671). Local formats without the country code are a common reason imports fail. The Power Dialer needs the Professional plan and is not available in the mobile app.

Good fit: mixed inbound and outbound teams, support plus sales, teams that want clear roles and supervisor controls.

JustCall: a choice of dialing modes

JustCall’s strength is choice. The Power Dialer calls one contact at a time for a single agent. The Dynamic Dialer still dials one by one but shares the calls across several agents. The Predictive Dialer dials several contacts at once so agents spend less time waiting. Dynamic and Predictive dialing are on the SalesPro plan. Owners and Admins can also create custom roles, which helps when you want someone to manage campaigns without full admin rights.

Good fit: teams that want to grow from simple power dialing into shared or predictive dialing on the same platform.

Predictive dialing comes with rules about abandoned calls in many countries. If you plan to use it, set campaigns up with those rules in mind from the first dial.

Kixie: built for outbound sales

Kixie is aimed squarely at outbound sales. Alongside its multi-line PowerDialer, its ConnectionBoost features combine local presence, number monitoring and progressive caller ID to help keep your numbers answerable. On the Professional plan, users can automatically show a local number matching the US or Canadian area code they are calling.

Good fit: outbound-heavy teams where answer rates are the main worry.

How to choose

  1. Inbound, outbound or both? Mostly inbound and support points towards a phone system like Aircall. Mostly outbound points towards JustCall or Kixie.
  2. How many agents dial at once? Several agents sharing one list is where JustCall’s Dynamic and Predictive modes come in.
  3. Are answer rates already a problem? If so, weigh Kixie’s number tools heavily, and read why fewer people answer your calls.
  4. Which CRM are you on? Check how calls, recordings and outcomes will reach your CRM before you sign. That part decides whether reps keep typing notes afterwards.
